6th November 2005 Windsurfing: Ythan Estuary, Aberdeen Wind Direction: WSW Wind Stength: 5-15mph Surf / Sea State: Flat Air Temperature: OK Sea Temperature: OK Weather: OK Max Speed: Distance Covered: About 12 people turned up to check out the conditions. I was hopeful of the wind picking up a bit, so rigged up the big kit. A few others rigged up, but waited to see how I got on before getting in their wet wetsuits from the previous day. I manged a few planing runs across the estuary and back (with a lot of pumping to get going), and this prompted people to join me on the water. It was at this point the wind gradually diasappeared, although there were a few tantalising gusts coming through, but not quite enough to get going properly for any distance. I probably had the best of the conditions, but they were still pretty rubbish! |
